I’m waiting on the arrival of the new Night Lords Kill Team so that I can complete the “rank and file” members of my Creations of Bile Chaos Warband. In the interim, I’ve been working on the various Champions, as per my previous post “The Gods Know His Name“

This guy is still very much WIP but came a little late to join that post.

I wanted another Emperor’s Children duellist and a former Palatine Blade leading one of the squads, in part because they’re just cool opportunities to model great characters and also it’ll be an excuse to get a little of the alternative colour scheme into the wider army look introducing the platinum of the Palatine Blades Heraldry into the mix.

The base of the model is the Sergeant from the newer Horus Heresy MkIII Tactical Squad. The cloak and arms are from the Horus Heresy Captain Lucius mini. The Trophy Rack comes from the Chaos Chosen Marines kit and the hand from the crew of the Legion Deimos Rhino. The head is also a MkIII Tactical Squad piece too.

The cloak and arms were meant to fit a slightly narrower torso so there are some gaps to fill where that shoulders pads meet the cloak, but I think I’ll do some ‘streamers’ from his cloak to cover the worst of these. Then he’ll need a little further Chaosification and some trinkets and trophies added. Will be a bit of work but I think worth it. I’m really pleased with the overall pose, in particular the juxtaposition created by the stocky MkIII Power Armour from the Horus Heresy and the graceful, fluid fencing style pose he’d adopted. Really excited to get some paint on all these, but Axiter in particular, once his friends are ready to join him!
