My Tacticus Diary is a weekly feature, reflecting on what I’ve been doing in Tacticus, achievements met and a few other bits and bobs that might have popped up! This is not the first Tacticus Diary and it will not be the last, you can find the others here.

Last Week’s Hangovers

• Who cares about last week! It’s all about this week! Perfection Personified starts in a couple of days and we find out if The Lucius Plan has been sufficient! I think it’s going to be very tight. I intend to buy the pack to give me access to the Premium Missions and the extra tokens but don’t want to have to spend any more than that if I can help it. However, the “In Case of Emergency, Break Glass” pack is there plus the potential of an “Oh So Close” offer if I’m nearly there and I’m not sure if the only alternative is to wait another six months that I won’t spend more money than I wanted to to make it happen…

Saturday 31st January 2026

• Comedy is all in the timing, one the paths I’m definitely weak on for Perfection Personified is the Ranged Specialist track – largely because there just aren’t many characters with the trait currently and of those I only have three. Well, now I can make that four! Unlocked Shadowsun in a Requisition drop. Won’t have enough time to rank her up ahead of this event but handy to know I have her so I can potentially push a little further for some more Lucius shards on the next one!

Sunday 1st February 2026

• So it begins! Perfection Personified is live! And we’re flying out of the gates and completing all those missions and maximising the scoring from those tokens. Have to try and bottle this feeling because the progress slows down as the checkpoints in the scoring get further and further apart and the difficulty goes up! All things feel possible at this pace though and I’m already planning out how my full Emperor’s Children team will look… This is full Emperor’s Children celebrating their victory before the battle levels of hubris at this point – wonderfully on-brand if not completely ill advised!
• In other news, the upgrade farming culminated in getting Hascule to Diamond 2 in time for him to help out with the scoring here – this wasn’t officially part of the plan but managed to get the existing Emperor’s Children up to Diamond 2 (excluding Laviscus who’s still only at Epic Rarity – for now). There’s not a huge amount of the scoring requirements he hits for me sadly but the nature of these events and the waves of enemies do mean he lends himself to them well where he can be used as his Passive ability providing the potential for lots of extra attacks makes him worth his weight in gold in the same way Kariyan and Lucien can be too!

Monday 2nd February 2026

• It’s always funny typing up my notes through the week for this as it makes it feel like these things all happened right next to each other. No sooner have I mentioned Laviscus still being stuck at Epic rarity then I’m saying he’s now Ascended to Legendary, of course, there was an actual whole day between these two things happening and a great deal of grinding kills in Onslaught, Arena and Salvage Run to accrue them either through Honouring him in Onslaught or through the current ‘For The Dark Gods’ event!
• The great news is, I’ve been working on farming upgrades for this eventuality in the background so we’re able to rank Laviscus up to Gold 3 in one go.

Tuesday 3rd February 2026

• Now that I have unlocked all of the shards for Laviscus from the ‘For The Dark Gods’ event I’ve pivoted over to fight ‘For The Emperor’ would be rude not to try and unlock the Power Fist for a later date when Mataneo is fully promoted.

Wednesday 4th February 2026

• Ranked-up Laviscus to Diamond 1 today. This great news for the Guild Raid team, Laviscus is very good at putting lots of extra damage into the bosses. The more damage he does by default the better!

Thursday 5th February 2026

• Rotbone was on the list of characters to continue to work on post Perfection Personified but I picked up a few of the Nurgle upgrade items in crates and decided to focus some time on Rotbone as he’d help with some of the higher levels in the event itself as the only Chaos healer, so ranked him up to Gold 2. He’s a bit behind the Emperor’s Children but if they bunker up around him, I can generally keep him safe and he keeps them going for a fair bit longer! I’ve also got a soft spot for him

Friday 6th February 2026

• ‘For The Emperor’ plan complete! Unlocked the Power Fist, will sit for a bit as Mataneo is a fair way off Mythic yet, but handy to know it’s there for once I manage that!

Highs

• Getting Laviscus to Legendary is definitely right up there! Regardless of the outcome, the Perfection Personified event has been fun and obviously the culmination of a lot of work so it feels pretty great to be in it at the moment!

Lows

• Barbgaunts – I hate them! They have made the Beta track quite difficult at times!

Learning

• Going to leave it on a cliffhanger this week rather than any learning, as there’s still another day of the ‘Perfection Personified’ event and I’m devilishly close to unlocking Lucius but also running out of tracks that I can reliably score so it very much will come down to the wire! Wish me luck!

Upgrade Item of the Week

This week’s Upgrade Item is: Superaugmented Constitution

Apparently I need a few of these for my Emperor’s Children so these are forefront of my mind at the moment, another really great piece of artwork hidden away in a tiny little thumbnail – these as ever are unreal!
