I’m re-reading ‘Black Legion’ by Aaron Dembski-Bowden at the moment and there’s a quote in there that stuck in my head when Khayon is describing Amurael, a former Sons of Horus Apothecary and the changes wrought upon his armour. I decided it was going to be the title of this particular blog-post long before I had managed to get half of these built.
“‘The Gods know his name’… We use it for those that have attracted the Pantheon’s attention and favour.”

This post then is something of a Rogue’s Gallery!
Noise Champions of the Ensemble
Noise Marines are in a bit of an odd place for me at the moment. There are the Forge World Kakophoni Marines, there are the Finecast Noise Marine weapons and there is the plastic Noise Marine commemorative miniature. All of these are deeply flawed and surely, inevitably all due to be replaced at some point (come on Mr Workshop – if not for an Emperors Children Codex then surely for a Kill Team release these make so much sense!). Either way, I needed a couple of Champions for my Noise Marine squads. Noise Champions have a somewhat quirky options list when it comes to their wargear and they can be equipped with a Sonic Blaster, a Power Fist, a Doom Siren and a Close Combat Weapon all at once – the Swiss Army Marine and also a bit of a headache from a modelling perspective…

Chaos Legionary Aspiring Champions
A few of the Aspiring Champions for my various Chaos Legionary squads for my Creations of Bile. These use bits from a few different sources, Horus Heresy, Chosen, Chaos Legionaries and Chaos Raptors to name a few.

Chosen Champion
The squad of Chosen that act as Fabius’ bodyguard are his Consortium. The Champion of that particular unit of those closest to Fabius Bile needed to have the Mark of Chaos Undivided. The squad as a whole is made up of characters from other legions who have abandoned their former loyalties, either permanently or temporarily whilst in the orbit of the Primogenitor himself. Therefore, there’s a marine in the squad to represent each of the Chaos Gods and Chaos Undivided. For Chaos Undivided, a former Sons of Horus marine who has not taken the black of Abaddon’s Black Legion felt right and was a nod to Skalagrim also, in the Fabius Bile Trilogy by Josh Reynolds.

Let me know what you think of these and hopefully I’ll be able to share some of the Legionaries and Renegades that they’re leading soon!
