Thought I’d try a new regular feature just to capture my antics in Tacticus and to share any snippets that pop up that wouldn’t warrant a post of their own! This was the first, but not the only Tacticus Diary – you can find the others here.

What happened last week?

• Still on a high from the Patch Notes – the rest of the Emperor’s Children are on the way! There was a hint of disappointment that Farsight is the December Legendary character and the second Lucius event is therefore presumably delayed until January but that’s tempered with some relief that I can get my teams into a slightly stronger position with an extra month with which to grind stuff – although the rest of the Emperor’s Children will get the lion’s share of my time and energy so perhaps not!
• The Neurothrope Quest closed and I hadn’t gotten enough shards to justify buying the pack to get some more shards. This was a little frustrating as the Neurothrope would have been very handy for my Lucius plan!

Saturday 29th November 2025

• One door closes and another opens – after missing out on the Neurothrope for my Close-Combat Weakness Trait team for the Lucius event I got Darkstrider from a random Requisition Scroll! Never been so happy to see a Tau!
• Got White Dwarf 518 today, there was a code for Nicodemus in there! Two new characters that I actually need in the same day!

Sunday 30th November 2025

• New Battlepass day – Lord of the Smurfs, Marneus Calgar this month – less fussed about him but the Sons of Ultramar event could be handy for getting some shards for Bellator and unlocking Titus!
• Upgraded Shiron to Rank Gold 3 – the Noise Marine will forever be my favourite… just don’t tell the other Emperor’s Children!

Monday 1st December 2025

• Finally got enough Legendary Xenos Orbs to Ascend Snotflogga!

Tuesday 2nd December 2025

• Sarquael promoted to Silver 1 – not my favourite but a necessity for the Lucius plan!

Wednesday 3rd December 2025

• Tournament Arena started – trying to farm Nids for the Oaths in the Ultramarines event – if you draw me, I’ll happily have all my character die at the end once they’ve farmed the Nids. “Patience is the soul of the thing!”
• Bellator to Legendary – a huge help for the Lucius plan as he’s a lynchpin of a few teams and I can bump his ability further so that his summons can do all the work!
• Kariyan to Legendary too! Lots of progress today!

Thursday 4th December 2025

• In preparation for the “Honour the Prince” release event for Hascule in a couple of days, pre-farming to get him to Silver 1 is complete (seeing as he unlocks at Rare) much as with the other Emperor’s Children, Diamond 1 is the actual next step on the plan but useful that he’ll be able to jump in to some battles and help out!

Friday 5th December 2025

• A little frustrated that there’s not enough shards in the store after all to unlock Titus – would have picked a different Campaign Event if I’d been aware – clearly a few of the content creators had gotten the wrong end of the stick with their advice. Some spare Oath Seals to find some use for too now!
• Getting closer to the Flawless Blade, Hascule’s event this weekend! Excited!

Highs

• Had quite a few Ascensions this last week with how shards and orbs have fallen which has felt like a bit jump progress wise. Been slightly lower on the rank front.
• As mentioned at the start, the sensible part of me is grateful for an extra month of prep for the Lucius event, doesn’t mean it won’t also appear below in the lows too though!

Lows

• I won’t be getting Lucius in 2025! Sure I am more likely to get him for it being 2026 but save your logic!
• Would have liked to have unlocked Titus this week so the confusion there is a frustration but what can you do?!

Learning

• The big one for me was finally remembering to remove equipment temporarily from some characters so that I could time levelling up for once I’d used up all my Salvage and Onslaught Tokens and had no Energy remaining – always forget and usually feels like a bit of a waste

Upgrade Item of the Week

This week’s Upgrade Item is: Boon of Slaanesh

Need so many of these for my Emperor’s Children and as a Legendary item they’re a grind, apparently thinking about them all of the time now!
