Another week down in Warhammer Tacticus and the second of my Tacticus Diaries. You can find the others here.

Last Week’s Hangovers

• Not really any from last week, it very much felt that last week was a warm-up to this week… more on that below.

Saturday 6th December 2025

• Not a lot happened today, this was the calm before the storm. Lots of grinding upgrades but not much else…
• Oh, I unlocked the Marshal’s Horse (ES819) as an Avatar from the Purge Order event, that will tide me over until I unlock Hascule.

Sunday 7th December 2025

• It’s here! Honour the Prince event has started and ploughing through the missions as quick as I can. Made sure to save up the tokens I’d need for the first batch so that I could get a decent head of steam and maximise the daily bonus for my leaderboard position. Managing to creep into the 990s in the table which isn’t bad. No idea how everyone else has the resources to get further!
• Unlocked the King of the Smurfs thanks to the Battlepass and Sons of Ultramar event. He seems pretty decent but I’m too far into the Lucius plan to pivot to Calgar now for my Bolter team, might be one for the future though!

Monday 8th December 2025

• Fall of Cadia – Battle 40 has been invaluable in the Honour the Prince event and completing all of the various kill-based missions: An Ode to Fall of Cadia Battle 40
• The Hascule grinding continues. On course to unlock him tomorrow with a bit of luck…

Tuesday 9th December 2025

• It is done! Hascule is unlocked and gotten him up to Silver 1 in Rank. Now to continue grinding so that we can promote him further to catch up with his Legion Brothers.
• With the For the Dark Gods Event having kicked off also, I’ve gotten some extra shards for Maladus of the Death Guard and Thaumacus of the Thousand Sons. They’re not on my list of priorities currently but will after the Lucius event I think.
• A day with lots going on, Incisus is up to Silver 1 also – handy as lots of potential for him to be a partner in crime to Hascule with their shared Piercing damage trait…
• All these new characters and promotions meant I hit Power Level 44, nice!

Wednesday 10th December 2025

• The Tyrith Quest started today, which was nice for getting some Imperial badges, some more shards for Tyrith but where it helps me most, is in getting more upgrades for Kariyan outside of the Daily Raids.
• Had 10 Requisition Scrolls so used those. The RNG gods were not with me particularly…

Thursday 11th December 2025

• Ranked Adamatar up to Gold 2 today, will get him to Diamond 1 same as Shiron before the Lucius event.
• Also managed to promote Kariyan to Silver 3, the aim is to get him to Gold 1 before Lucius also.
• Everything really is structured around readiness for the the Lucius event for me now!

Friday 12th December 2025

• Got Mataeno up to Silver 1. He’s one of my favourite Imperial characters to use in campaign battles because his ability looks very Movie Marine!
• Progress on the Honour the Prince event continues, 952 was the highest position I’ve seen in the leaderboard so far – pleased with that!

Highs

• I really love Hascule – I think he’s going to be lots of fun and really useful in the various horde modes. I mean I was always going to love him so I guess that’s not a surprise for an Emperor’s Children Swordsman.

Lows

• None really, just my own lack of patience. The character release events can feel a bit of a grind after the initial unlock as you’re waiting for ascension from Rare to Epic and so on before anything really changes, so the steps in between don’t feel like the level of accomplishment they maybe ought to.

Learning

• Some twists and turns amidst the progress in my plan for the Perfection Personified event to unlock Lucius. The current aims are below…

Upgrade Item of the Week

This week’s Upgrade Item is a: Lavish Helmet Crest

Have 36 of these left after the promotions to my Emperor’s Children marines this week. An auspicious number (6 x 6) so only right and proper that we celebrate some fancy head-gear!
