Last Week’s Hangovers

• Not so much a hangover, but into the second week of the Hascule event this week and that means things slow down a bit as the gap between milestones gets wider each time. For that reason I didn’t buy the £9.99 pack for extra daily energy and additional Twisted Sigils each time you earnt them. I did in the first week as when you’re powering through those early crates and completing the missions you can earn loads of extra ones but not as good value in Week 2. That meant there was something of a grind ahead in the goal of getting Hascule as close to Legendary as I could…

Saturday 13th December 2025

• Lots of grinding through levels. Currently still working on getting Hascule to Epic, which will be nice as a lot of work has gone into making sure I can promote him straight to Gold 1 once I do!

Sunday 14th December 2025

• Faction Focus starts in a couple of days, so bonuses (mostly ability badges) for playing within one faction in your games. Seeing as my Emperor’s Children are my best and favourite but also, I only have 3 of them, so it could prove tricky to maximise my gains on this one. Food for thought!
• Otherwise, more grinding. Tomorrow should see me get Hascule to Epic with some luck.

Monday 15th December 2025

• Hascule promoted to Epic and therefore Gold 1 – now he can start to be a bit more help in Arena, Campaign Battles and Onslaught. However, the work is far from done, we need to get him to Diamond 1 with Shiron asap.
• Patch Notes release today confirmed that the Leagues of Votann are the next faction to be added to the game. There’s also a Wolf Priest on the way (more healers won’t hurt!) and confirmation that the Perfection Personified event for Lucius will be 1st February. That date is key now!

Tuesday 16th December 2025

• Promoted Adamatar to Diamond 1. So he catches up to Shiron. I really like Adamatar, I don’t think he’s quite as much fun to use as Shiron and Hascule are but he’s still good and he combos nicely with his brothers (Shiron especially)
• Isabella is promoted to Silver 2, a little closer to the goal of getting her to Gold 1.
• Faction Focus kicks off as does Tournament Arena. I can’t lie, I’m loving using the Emperor’s Children in Tournament Arena. Just playing at common currently to borrow Lucius and not have him completely outclassed by everyone.

Wednesday 17th December 2025

• More promotions today. Eldryon to Gold 1, Bellator to Gold 1 and Volk to Silver 3. That’s work on Bellator and Eldryon done for now and one more to go on Volk ahead of the Perfection Personified event.

Thursday 18th December 2025

• A quiet day compared to the last couple. Early estimates look like I’ll manage to promote Hascule to 3 Red Stars in the event but won’t get him to Legendary. Luckily, I’ve made a start on that in Onslaught battles so once the Honour the Prince event ends we’ll make him Legendary and bump him up to Diamond 1 to match his fellow Emperor’s Children marines.

Friday 19th December 2025

• Final day of Tournament Arena – Lucius hurry back soon!

Highs

• Tournament Arena Factions for the win! Getting to use Lucius alongside the rest of the Emperor’s Children (and Volk as an honourary member whilst waiting for Laviscus) was a great deal of fun!
• Really enjoying Hascule – he’s a lot of fun in Tournament Arena and a few other game modes, especially when you can trigger his passive ability a few times and net lots of extra kills. Had some great moments with this in Tournament Arena where his first flurry of attacks maybe got the one kill but when one of his brothers Overkills something adjacent to him he goes again and again if he triggers further Overkills himself. The best!

Lows

• Already miss Lucius! 1st February for the Perfection Personified event cannot come fast enough!

Learning

• Now that the Patch Notes have dropped we have the date for Lucius which means all of my plans around upgrades and ranking up characters have a hard end-date now as we’ve been working to best-guesstimates up until now.
• I hadn’t realised that if you run a team of less than 5 in the Arena is keeps your previous Top Team the same regardless of any victories. I only noticed this as played quite a few games with just my 3 Emperor’s Children this time round for the Faction Focus event.

Upgrade Item of the Week

This week’s Upgrade Item is a: Mark of Slaanesh

With much getting the Emperor’s Children characters up through the rankings, I’ve needed to craft a fair few of these and like all of the upgrade artwork, I’m astonished by the level of detail for something that you never see as any bigger than a thumbnail anywhere!

I’m currently using the Tacticus Planner and the Tacticus Codex to help with my event planning and my Raiding plan – you can see a bit more about them in my Getting Started with Tacticus post.
